RUN TO HELP KIDS WITH BRAIN TUMORS
Every runner on Team CBTP runs for a reason. For a child. For a family. For hope. From marathons to 5Ks, races connect people from all over the world, and our teams unite them in one purpose—advancing research that changes lives.
Throughout the year, the Children’s Brain Tumor Project Foundation collects interest forms for the exciting races in which we have been selected as charity partners, including three WORLD MAJORS, providing our supporters with the opportunity to run in the some of the world’s most popular marathons.
Team CBTPF is the only charity team exclusively dedicated to funding pediatric brain tumor research at Weill Cornell Medicine.
For races where we are able to provide you with guaranteed entry, runners will be required to raise a minimum for our charity and pay their own race registration fees. The fundraising minimums and benefits provided vary per race, so please make a selection below to learn more about a specific race you might be interested in.

BRING YOUR OWN BIB
You don’t have to run a marathon or register to use one of our race entries to fundraise for the cause. We can help athletes set up a fundraiser for any event you choose to participate in! From an Iron Man to a 5K, our team resources are still available to support you in your training and fundraising efforts. If you register for a race on your own and choose to fundraise for the Children’s Brain Tumor Project Foundation, you will still get all of the benefits we provide our team.
- You register yourself and pay your own race registration/entry fee for any athletic event you choose
- You set your own fundraising goal (no minimum required)
- We will work with you to create your fundraising page
- You can leverage all the same resources that benefit Team CBTP!
WHERE THE MONEY GOES
Fundraising for this cause brings hope to all children diagnosed with brain tumors. The CBTP Foundation is the only charity partner that raises funds to exclusively support the pediatric brain tumor research underway at Weill Cornell Medicine. The research lab is led by Dr. Mark Souweidane and Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield, who openly collaborate with other research institutions around the world to advance the science and bring new treatment options to the clinic.
The Children’s Brain Tumor Project laboratory has a strong focus on translational research and designing individualized treatment protocols based on genomic profiles. Their four pillars of research include:
- Drug Delivery
- Precision Medicine
- Developmental Biology
- Immunotherapy
“I cheer on our race teams with my entire family, because I want them to know how grateful I am. I ran the NYC Marathon on behalf of the Children’s Brain Tumor Project myself, and it was the ultimate bucket list opportunity. I ran to honor all of my dear patients, and it was an accomplishment that will stay with me for a lifetime! Thank you to all the runners who join our team and fundraise for this important cause!”
